Capt. Dr. Tarun Singhal

The man behind pursuing this initiative is Capt. Dr. Tarun Singhal, Vice President in Usha Breco Ltd, and Director, Usha Breco Education Infrastructure Ltd. He is a self starter and an innovative human being. It was because of his dedication and will power that this initiative, in the form as we see today, has borne results. He selected Handicraft items made from jute as the first intervention for the upliftment of the financially backward ladies of the Urban slum in Hardwar.

Dr. Singhal, is an ex Indian defense forces officer. He is a Short service commissioned officer. After spending a decade in Army, on being released joined the Corporate world in 2001 and since then he has been excelling in various fields and making a land mark for himself. The best was when he completed his Doctorate in Management in 2008. Did his schooling & college from Dehradun. Presently lives in Hardwar, but stays approx.15 days in a month in Delhi NCR.

Mrs. Shakumbari Negi

Mrs. Shakumbari Negi, is the First artisan who taught the group, the art of making of handicraft items from Jute. She is in doing this work since long. After the death of her husband she took up making of the jute handicraft items and is able to sustain and maintain her family from the income so generated from this.

After learning the basis of jute items from her the group was trained, under the training program of National Jute Board, for three weeks to further refine their skills.
